2004 NYS Rainbow Membership Drive

The Care Bear selected at Grand Assembly is the bear that will represent your assembly this year. As Mom Betsy has challenged us to bring in 69 new members this year, let's help her Live Her Dream. There is a chart where we will keep track of how many new girls we bring into this wonderful organization. Every Care Bear has a different symbol on its belly, and that symbol will be placed on the chart every time your assembly brings in a new member. At Grand Assembly in 2005 the assembly that brought in the most members will receive one of the BIG Care Bears with a sash saying "Membership Drive 2004" as an award. Each assembly is responsible for buying or making their Care Bears that are the "normal" size.

In addition, if we reach our goal of 69 new members this year, Mom Betsy will not only throw us party, but I will personally donate $50 to the State Charity and $50 to the scholarship fund!

For an assembly project I thought it would be fun to see how far your bear travels through out the year. For example, let's say Pearl River attends one of Middletown's Initiations. Pearl River and Middletown will switch their bears. Then Middletown attends an Installation at Hudson Valley, again the bears get switched and so on. With the Care Bears there will be a white vest where each assembly will take a fabric marker and either write the assembly name or the assembly symbol. The white vests will be provided at Grand Family. This will also show the amount of traveling each assembly has done. At the end of the year, if you do not want to keep your bear I will be more then happy to take them and donate them to a local police or fire station for children who are victims of domestic violence.
