1. Applicant must be an active member of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls in the state of New York and must have earned all merit bars and the Pot of Gold.
2. Applicant must:
a. be a high school graduate OR
b. have earned their GED certificate and have successfully completed one year of college with good grades
3. Applicant must also have brought a candidate into Rainbow and the applicant’s assembly must have contributed to the Scholarship Fund during the year.
4. Applicant must be under the age of 21 at the time of Grand Assembly.
5. All awards from the Scholarship Fund will be sent directly to the recipient.
6. Scholarship shall be applicable for one year in the amount of $750.00.
7. Scholarship will be awarded based on an applicant’s high school record, ability, character and Rainbow Service. The Committee may also consider additional factors.
8. A personal interview is required. Recipients must be present at Grand Assembly in formal long white dress to receive an award.
9. All applications must be filled out completely and properly (preferably typed) and be accompanied by a last semester’s transcript and confidential references in order to be considered for the Scholarship. The application must be post-marked on or before February 1st of the year of application.
10. Applicant must be pursuing a two- (2) or four- (4) year course of study in an accredited educational institution to be eligible for the Scholarship. The Committee may, on an individual basis, consider other courses of study.
11. A copy of proof of graduation or a copy of GED certificate must be sent to the committee secretary before the Scholarship will be distributed.
